[Regia-NA] Re: Jorvik shoes and toggles

Okay, so the Jorvik shoes are ambiguous - and personally I lean to the
toggles on the instep argument even though it 'looks' really wrong.

Kim, our magnificent leader, has always found ( due to his gravitas )
that a shoe done up on the instep easier to manage - he's a little
creaky you see...

HOWEVER he shouted, there are heaps of shoes from Northern Europe that
are toggled on the outside for sure, unless of course their toes were
longer on the little toe - always a possibility.

AND, as far as re-enactorisms are concerned, there are far more shoes
and shoe fragments that are laced in some way. The Latchet or Toggle is
pretty rare in reality.

Cheers, Roll.

Methinks what we have here is a reenactorism. Shoe workshop anyone?
