[Regia-NA] Heavy undertunics under mail shirt ( forward)

Well, referring to the original question (ahem) ;) we have record of a
garment known as subarmalis (which google) worn by Imperial Roman soldiers
under their loricae. After the Dark Age, we see gambesons being worn. A gap
of nearly 1000 years in which Regia sits plumb in the middle.

If I recall correctly, "gambys" have been suggested as safety gear, but as
we can't prove their existence in period, AND since they're supposed to be
hidden under mail, they're just safety gear.

So your solution would be to make up a reasonable guess for a
gambeson/subarmalis type garment and to exclusively wear it under your mail,
not as armor.
