We'll have none of that nastiness here - anyway, the dogs might well have been imported from France. ;o))

Generally speaking, the greyhound and lurcher were around - and expensive - and the beast under Godwinsson's arm is
called "woofer" and is to be found in all times and places where dogs and men gather.
