I don't "do" lenses well either, but manage with them on site. Also, being
rather older than Vara, I normally wear varifocal glasses, and have found
"monovision" lenses the answer on site. One eye is corrected for distance and the
other for close work. It's a bit weird at first, and dreadful for driving -
but who needs to drive on an LHE? It does mean I can see around the site
without getting a headache, and see well enough to sew - and even read if necessary.
The welcome cry of "Wimples off" at the end of the day now brings the comfort
of my glasses as well as my Reeboks - the rest of my kit is more comfortable
than the modern stuff!
