Thanks for the tip. I'm not sure what would make them "not for cooking" -- the solder, perhaps, or a treatment to keep them from tarnishing. Apple butter made in copper kettles is sold commercially. And wasn't that a huge copper vat I saw at my local micro-brewery? -- Tracie
