Don't know, but I've had the same problem with a heavy mantle.  However, I 
have heard it said that all the illustrations suggest mantles were actually 
quite lightweight high-ranking items - not outdoor clothing at all ie not a 
substitute for a cloak.  People with lightweight mantles don't seem to have this 
problem.
