have a look at the stuff from york..plain weave, not dupont
there is also something described as taffeta silk at Birka..approx 1% of the
finds
silk twill   15%.
there are some rather nice brocade silks known as well..Hazel will give you
the exact refrence no doubt. From finds silk was known more amongst the
vikings than the saxons, but was known. The approx. price was twice its
weight in silver...so make sure you're rich enough for the kit with your
other equipment.
