Scramseax,basically a group of knifes that include hadseax {hand knife}, langseax {longknife}.Carrying a knife shows you are a free person,a slave would have been given a knife to complete a task & would then return it to the lender.A scramseax comes in varying sizes dependant on use.A small knife for eating,a larger more robust knife for heavier work.The langseax is not a tool but a weapon of war,it has no other use than killing people & as such is a status symbol just below that of a swordThe usual shape of the knife is similar to the of a door wedge in profile but becoming less pronounced the longer the blade.With prolonged use & sharpening the end result is similar to the blade of a bowie knife.The spine of the blade can be 3-6mm thick thining to the cutting edge.
In Regia a blade over 6 inchs long must be tempered & the cutting edge must be no less than 3mm thick & rounded so there's no sharp edges.The point of the blade must be rounded to 10mm.

As for the rest of the weapons specs,cutting edges must be 3mm thick,points must be 10mm in diameter,blade must not be just a flat piece of metal cut to shape & they must be tempered & hardened where needed.I'm hoping that some kind person will give you the link to the online weapons specs coz i can't find it a the moment.On there it gives weights & measurements for the weaponry.
I hope paul binns site is useful to you,sorry for mixing imperial & metric mesurements but i don't do imperial mesurements below an inch coz i'm a product of the change over in the british schooling system!{doh!}
