[Regia-NA] Felted caps

Hope someone out there can help me with this:  I've seen photos of 
reliable re-enactors wearing what appear to be fulled nalbinded or 
knitted caps -- they were not so fulled that the stitches were obscured 
-- as well as what appear to be felt caps of similar design, decorated 
with a woven band.  Now I've found a little information about the felt 
caps, but nothing about the (probably) nalbinded ones. Does anyone on 
this list have some information on them?  Documentation? Well-grounded 
conjecture?  Instructions  or even lessons learned about the one you 
made?
