biab - the british & irish archaeological bibliography - online service
launch

biab and CBA are very happy to announce that the full biab online =
service
was launched this morning at:

http://www.biab.ac.uk

biab online will initially be available FREE OF CHARGE for a period of =
one
month until mid June 2003.

After mid June access to biab online will only be available to =
subscribers -
and will include the most recent material from biab 7(1) for 2003.
Subscriptions will remain at the reduced rate of =A320 for individuals =
and =A380
for institutions.

This launch marks the beginning of a revolution in the way the public,
academics
and professionals can gain access to information on archaeology and the
practice of archaeology in these islands from the late seventeenth =
century
to the present day.=20

Online abstracts and bibliographic references to nearly 200,000 =
documents
dating from 1695AD to the present day will be made available in a =
relational
database structure that will allow a greater degree of precision =
retrieval
than has ever been available before.

Our goal is to facilitate optimum retrieval and manipulation of the =
data for
all our users.
