Since there has been a clamoring of a need for example photos, I ran through
the Regia and group websites and came up with these... Most are generic,
but a few are specific to a cultural grouping. If it isn't obvious and you
want to know if something is appropriate to whatever, ASK!

The photos from the Regia national site can also be found
here...http://www.regia.org/images/ (these are a bit larger)

The major problem of a listing like this... Although these items conform to
Regia standards, they are not the only examples of period items, or the only
items that you may use. Setting out that you can only have cup X, or bowl
Y, produces a cookie-cutter imaging, whereby everyone has the same identical
kit as the person sitting next to him. Regia members should avoid this. A
good book of archeological finds (such as Viking to Crusader, or any of the
excellent York archaeology books) will show a myriad of acceptable items of
kit.

COSTUMING
(NOTE: for costume photos, if any show members wearing the leather "D"

General...
http://www.danetre-vikings.org.uk/ - NOTE: this is a site for a SSS, and
while most of the kit items are passable, some are not...ASK before
making/buying!!!

********WHAT NOT TO DO**********

These are just SOME glaring examples of incorrect kit...to include all the
no-no's would make for a big email listing (and probably hurt some people's
feelings).

General...
http://www.regia.org/Saxon1.htm - photos are representative of Saxons before
Regia's timeline
http://www.regia.org/celts1.htm - photos are representative of "Celts"
before Regia's timeline

Shields...
http://www.regia.org/shields.htm (right hand photo in last row) - these
kites should have bosses

Costumes...
http://www.regia.org/spear.htm (top photo) - these costumes are
representative of Saxon costumes before the time span of Regia
http://www.york24.org/tye/2002/jorvik_viking_festival_2003/rw/pages/hobro1.h
tm - no furry hats! (love the sneakers and the glasses!...all that effort
ruined so easily)

Scrams/Knives...
http://www.the-dragons-claw.com/Catalog/Historical/CelticRoman/paul_chen_scr
amasax.htm - the ferrule is iffy, but definitely no pommel (pommels and
cross-guards on scrams are early)!
