My name is Jim and while I hail from Portland my job keeps me moving =
around and will do for the next 6 months or so at least. So for now I am =
a bit of an internet only re-enacter.=20
I only joined the list recently, although I have been quietly lurking =
with the other Regia Portland folk for some time. I seem to have walked =
into a bit of a flame war about standards between the US and europe, and =
after getting some answers from Dorian it was suggested that I raise my =
other question here.=20
Put simply, I have seen a lot of talk on other lists like the armour =
archive about renactments of the battle of Hastings in 2000 and again in =
the future. I very much want to travel to take part in one of these =
events and I was surprised to be told that regia Uk ahd nothing to do =
with the last event.=20
I am told that the next event is still 2-3 years away, but I would =
like to know if there is no involvement from regia Uk, will the skills I =
learn and authenticity rules I follow here in the US be valid at the =
next Hastings event ? =20
