Actually, I'd like to see photos of the "van Dyke" cross stitch and =
featherstitching. Am not quite sure whta you mean by either from the =
description!

Often, a line of thread was laid onto the seam and stitched down, sort =
of couched into the seam. I think the Llan Gors textile had a reinforced =
seam a bit like this, but I believe that it was an integral part of the =
seam.
The closest stitch to the one on the Mammen cushion seam is a sort of =
'Van Dyke' stitch which ends up looking like a cross stitch with one =
long leg....if that makes any sense?
I can include a picture in the pack!
