Micel Folcland, Inc., the Wisconsin-Indiana-Illinois branch of Regia
Anglorum, is proud to announce that it will be having its fall Hearth
Night on the weekend of 10 October, 2009, at Forest Glen Preserve,
Westville, Illinois.

Hearth Night is a workshop weekend, where members of the group gather
for an annual board meeting, for workshops on various subjects and
for combat drills and training. Sessions and discussions on textiles,
cookery, archery & spear-throwing practice and much else will be
held. Costume is not required, and admittance is free. Free camping
space is available, as well as sleeping spaces in the Pioneer Cabin
and the heated Gannett Nature Center. Anyone interested in serious
Early-Middle-Age reenacting and/or rebated steel weapon combat is welcome.

This year, Micel Folcland is pleased to announce that William Short
of Hurstwic will be in attendance. Short, the author of the recently
published _Viking Weapons and Combat Techniques,_ will be holding a
lecture on his book and its subject matter, as well as participating
in and leading training sessions. For more information on his book,
see http://www.williamrshort.com/vik_wpn/index.html (copies of the
book will not be available for sale at Hearth Night but may be
ordered from Amazon and many other sources).

For more information about and directions to Forest Glen, see
http://www.vccd.org/giforestglen.html. Reservations are not needed,
but a notice of attendance would be appreciated.

Cheers, Folo
