Subject: [BRITARCH] Nanotubes in Damascus swords

There is an item in today's "Nature" speculating that carbon nanotubes may
have been responsible for special properties of medieval Damascus swords.
Indian iron ore may have had a special role. See
http://www.nature.com/news/2006/061113/full/061113-11.html for interpretive
commentary.
