Yes, that is the part they're wrong about. <G>  I don't have anything 
handy, but plaid is documentable into pre-history.  Let me look & see 
what I can find specific to the Regia time frame.  The Viking Era [in 
England] is considered to have ended in 1066, IIRC.  Jennifer
