[Regia-NA] caring for your blades

If I'm expecting the steel to get wet (rain, salt spray), I use OOO grade wire wool and synthetic two stroke oil,
rubbing the oil into the steel. A polished blade tends to be more difficult to oil, so I clean it with washing up liquid
and wash it off well, drying the blade over the stove until it is hot to tough - say 80c. Then the synthetic oil will
stick better.

I'm afraid WD40 is just a kind of beefed up paraffin (kerosene) and won't last long.

There is a Stateside product called Duck Oil which is also pretty good.

- but nothing sticks to metal like Castrol R, a vegetable based racing oil.

Regards,

Kim Siddorn

 - who wishes you and yours all the very best for the New Year.
