[Regia-NA] bags

What are people using to carry "stuff" around the yr 1000... Anglo-Saxon.
Also, if we ladies aren't belted, where do we carry our knives?  in the bag,
of course. <G>  But, I need to know what our bags look like, as we are doing
leatherwork right now.
We just finished making feet-shapes, well stuffed w/ newspaper.
Also, for carrying water on hikes.... do we use leather flasks?  gourds?
