Every spring here at Vassar, the Old English instructor (Prof. Mark Amodio) 
hosts a Beowulf Marathon.  Everyone who can read OE gets together one 
evening and they take turns reading the whole thing straight through.  One 
year my husband went dressed in his mail and played his lyre as part of the 
fun.  (The professor was interested to hear where his opinions differed 
from Christopher Page's on the playing of the instrument.)
