Dear Russ--
There's some info on chests/boxes on my webpage:
http://www.jomsb.org/Sunnifa/Accessories/Norsewidgets.htm
It's a class handout, and was originally in MSWord. We're in the process of
translating it over to a program that better suits the web, so sorry for the
formatting issues. The first 3 paper pages are on band boxes and other
boxes/chests--drawn from all over the Viking Age. Gives you a jumping off
point, at any rate, I hope!
