Every time you press a key on the keyboard, the Uni-Code is sent to the
computer.  This is how it knows what to type.
 
Uni-code ALT 0120 is x, thus everytime you press x on your keyboard the
computer gets ALT 0120.
 
(This is very simplified so as not to confuse people, please do not start a
discussion on the actual dynamics of Unicode).
