I've been trying every way I can think of to combine weld and iron, but so 
far all I get is medium khaki-gray.  It's so boring, I'd hesitate to 
include it in a camouflage grouping!

Fascinating!  I've never tried madder with copper; they just don't seem 
"right" together in my mind.  But I also got bright orange with madder and 
the tapwater in New Haven, Connecticut.  Hmmm.  If New Haven equals 
Scotland for purposes of water (in which case, may God have mercy on 
Scotland!), then maybe I should repeat the weld-iron experiment there? ;>
