After difficulties posting anything at all on the e group in the uk & then having problems posting to regia usa,my hot mail address olafleifson@hotmail.com will only be used for private mail & my new mail address miklawson@yahoo.co.uk will now be used for any regia business,insults, complements or offers of employment regia related.
For sale, 7.5 kilos of the solid rings for mail as sold to me by kim,yours to finish off your mail shirt,key rings & the like,£49.Delivery to be arranged.
A bit of a shocker this weekend in Chester.After years of telling the public that a sword will not penetrate mail,i thrust my sharp sword into my piece of demonstation mail.{this is mail made from butt joined & solid rings}I would have expected the butt joined rings to fail but the sword cut through a solid ring like a knife through butter.The mail is a piece 20 cm x 35 cms of alternative solid ,butt joined rings,edged in leather & sewn onto 30 layers of linen.The sword is about as sharp as a butter knife & cut the solid ring & went through most of the linen but not completly.The mail was on my Gambeson,which is a total of 50 layers of the same heavy wieght linen{30 on the front,20 on the back} & would have absorbed most of the impact but the stunned silence was only broken by the giggling of the crowd.This prompts a rethink?
